In addition to freelancing, I'm currently the Creative Director for a small marketing firm here in my home state of North Carolina. I’ve had the privilege of honing my craft across a wide array of industries, each with their own unique audiences and challenges. Each of my client relationships start off the same way…and that’s with a solid understanding of company philosophy, intended audience, and project goals. For example, in getting to know a North Carolina hemp farm called Carolinabis, I learned that their guiding mission was to genuinely make people feel better both physically and mentally with their CBD products, and they wanted their personal style to be expressed in the company’s visual aesthetic. The combination of the written and visual messaging became a really fun “Art deco meets traveling circus with a dash of Willy Wonka” vibe that I’m positive will be instantly recognizable as their company continues its rapid growth. As much as I love branding from the ground up, giving established brands much needed makeovers is every bit as fulfilling. When asked to rebrand a well-known local diner chain, the strategy was to blend the old with the new, and in doing so the result was a fresh new logo and an amazing new website to attract a new generation of guests. This new aesthetic still screams old-fashioned diner, but definitely sets Jakes up to continue it’s 30+ years of diner dominance far into the future. Portfolio: https://www.behance.net/stuart52b1 hide
