This name come from little creatures that I created for my first short animated movie “The Pearl Under Giants’ Furrows (La Perla sotto i solchi dei Giganti)“. These creatures are like mascottes and I hope they will bring me fortune in my animation career. My real name is Valeria Degli Agostini and I was born in 1989 in Padova. Since I have memory, I’ve always drawn. In 2008 I graduated in an Experimental Artistic High School “A. Modigliani”, Padova, where I’ve studied architecture, Painting and Polymer clay modeling. During high school I studied by myself Adobe Photoshop and I started to paint in digital, with the mouse. At the same time I tried to animate in “straight ahead”, I wanted to reproduce a fragment of an hip hop choreography in traditional animation. In 2009 I started an animation course at Nemo NT Academy in Florence. In 2010 I obtained an Autodesk Character Certificate at Big Rock School in Treviso. I learnt 3D computer Graphics, from modeling, rigging, animating, to rendering and post producing. I was enthusiastic. I found a job as graphic designer for slot machines. I was lucky to find a job, and also a job which permitted me to draw and to animate. But I didn’t agree with the ethics of my new job. Moreover I was curious and tireless, I was feeling incomplete. I was able to do a lot of things, but I didn’t own theorical thinking. I was only an empty instrument. So, in 2011 I started university. Visual and performing Arts at IUAV, Venice. I worked on an animation short set in Venice. I’ve studied a lot and I discovered that I’m keen on anthropology. I’ve always done a lot of different things, maybe too much things, and I was confused because everyone said to me that I had to choose. But my studies helped me to understand. I can’t give up to who I am and what I do. I like to do a lot of things and I’m an eclectic person. You can choose me like a Graphic Designer, like an Animator, like a Videomaker, Motion Graphic Artist, Digital Painter or like an Interaction Designer. In any case I’m not perfect, because I’m not a god, but I’m a person who likes to learn. I started asking me: which kind of profession is most similar to what I do? Which kind of profession can describe and include all my skills? I’ve found an answer: Multimedia Designer. hide
