Born in London, raised in the Algarve by Irish parents. Design has always been in my life in some shape or form. It started when I used to travel up north with my parents, and helped choose bedspread designs for them to sell in their shop. All those pretty patterns and colours stimulated my young mind. At the age of 11 I started dabbling in graphic design, designing my very first logo for my parents shop (which now makes me cringe!). I somehow knew that this would be a career one day. But it wasn't until I started to work at The Algarve Resident and The Portugal News that I got a real taste for graphic design. Up until this point, I had been self taught. My passion for graphic design was on fire at this point, so, at the age of 23, I decided to go to university to study Communication Design at night, while continuing to work full-time. If only I had listed to my mother when I was younger! I would have been done with my studies by that age! Instead of partying all night, I was heavily focused on my projects and was slept deprived for three years. It taught me great time management skills that allow me to work on multiple projects at once, while keeping my sanity intact. Thanks to all that hard work, I was one of the top students that year, and my university offered my an internship after I graduated. I then decided to move to the UK for a year, where I worked for a digital marketing and design agency as a graphic designer and a social media manager. I was lucky enough to work with some amazing clients during this time, and was trained in digital marketing. This was a HUGE benefit to my skill set as it was here that I learnt the importance and influence that marketing can have on a great design. I am a creative. I can never seem to stop creating…there is always an idea or some new business idea running through my head. And that is why I have decided to finally create my own business. Design is my life. It’s my five-star spa. My roller-coaster. It’s something I do before going to bed and something I can’t wait to do in the mornings. Without it, my world would be black and white. hide
