Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We're a young married couple who's starting a Catholic email newsletter called Go Forth (similar to theSkimm, but angled for Catholics). The idea is to curate news and commentary relevant to their faith but not "about" their faith, so as to help them have meaningful conversations with others. For example: a sample newsletter could include anything from news about a new initiative to help the homeless to what Pope Francis said yesterday to so-and-so's opinion on the death penalty. (Our tagline is "field notes for the modern Catholic" — feel free to include, or not.)

We need a logo. We're open to pretty much anything. In our own dabbles, we tried making something out of the crosswalk "walk" sign man (with a halo... haha), as well as something with a city skyline, etc., but didn't quite have the artistic expertise to execute it well.

Regarding preferred colors: blues and yellows were what we previously tried working with, but we're open to anything that's not pink. Something that's mod and workable with flat design seems to makes sense. This is related to religion, but again, not "about" it, so religious iconography may or may not make sense. Again, open to whatever you want to give a shot.

Please don't look at other Catholic organization's logos and design for inspiration. They're mostly very bad.

**UPDATE 2/24: We also thought about what an ideal website accompanying this newsletter would look like. We mainly like clean white, minimal design... and maybe serif fonts, probably close to Refinery29 and Medium. Ideally the logo would pair well with that. We think "clean" is an important attribute for conveying "practical," "helpful" (or "useful") and "trustworthy." The best logo would convey that as well, maybe with a bit more character.
