Resumen de Diseño de Logo

Hi,

First of all I would like to introduce myself briefly. My name is Oliver. I’m a 31 year old Belgian motorcycle mechanic (in my spare time) and I need a vintage logo for my motorcycle speed shop/man cave. ‘Vintage' because I only make, restore and race old school motorcycles from the 60’s era and well… I just ain’t fittin’ with the new stuff!

I want the design of the logo to be everything like it would have existed back in the days. In the attached file I’ve added some pictures of car club logos, existing Speed Shops and other names & things that inspired me and that’ll give you a good direction where to begin from.

The name of the shop will be "GALLOWS MOTORCYCLE SPEED SHOP So.Ghent”. The name comes from the rope noose used in a gallows that is an ancient symbol of rebellion that the inhabitants of my city wore in 1540 during the 'Ghent Revolt' as a sign of repression against the powers that ruled. So.Ghent stands for South Ghent where my shop is located.

Next to the name I’ve chosen for my shop there are a couple of elements I really would love to see integrated in the designs. For example an animal that is typically related to gallows and death in general is a crow or a raven. It should give the design something dark and mysterious. A praying mary or a jesus head of praying hands or… give it something mystic.
The next and more obvious element should be in connection with my love for mechanics like e.g. a rough drawing of my motorcycle (see pictures added, its a 60’s dragster motorcycle with a typical squared back tire, very low to the ground) or a mechanical part such as a piston or a cam shaft or some other mechanical part.

As for the fonts/typography I like everything old-skool (see Pomona Drag jacket font). Colours.. less is better.

At first I thought it’d be cool to add as much directions as possible but I convinced myself I should let you designers work your own magic and just surprise me with your skills :-). Feel free ofcourse to ask if you’re not sure about something... I’d be glad to discuss it with you.
