Resumen de Diseño de portada de libro

In 1769 astronomers headed to far off lands to answer the burning question of the day: What was the diameter of the earth? The Transit of Venus--an event that happened once a century--would give them their only chance. I need a book cover design for a novel about the 16 year old artist, Alexandre Jean Noel, plucked out of art school and sent to Baja California. Oh, did I mention he's an orphan and a dwarf? For real. When the astronomers and Noel land in Baja, they discover a village in the grip of yellow fever. When the leaders die, Noel must rely on his ingenuity and his art to bring the survivors safely back to Paris. Below, File 1 is his painting of what happened in Cabo San Jose. He is the little guy in back. Files 3,4,5,6 are images owned by the Louvre. I might be able to get permission, but I'm not sure. Files 10-12 are photos I took. I'm not sure how I could get permission to use File 2.

I just uploaded two maps. One is big map of Mexico and the other is a detail of Baja California and the Mer Vermille. I think the detail map might work well on the cover.
