Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We will be arranging a conference on electronics system integration technology in Helsinki, Finland in September 2014 and we would need a logo for this event. The logo should include the abbreviated name of the conference and the year: "ESTC 2014". In the past conferences, the style of the logo has been quite conservative and the color scheme has changed from year to another (see e.g. http://www.estc-conference.net for some old material). If you can find a little "flavor" perhaps from the theme of the conference (electronics) and/or something local (Helsinki) to make it stand out next to the old logo while still maintain the underlying “spirit” of the old just enough to maintain the impression that the 2014 conference still belongs to the same line of conferences, that would be perfect!

Just as an example of what we are looking for: We liked in particular what the organizers of another conference held in Helsinki last year did with their logo (see http://conferences.sigcomm.org/sigcomm/2012/). The colorful lines above the conference name clearly represent a well-known sight in Helsinki, the Sibelius Monument. The venue of our conference is Finlandia Hall in Helsinki, which is a nice example of Finnish architecture. You may find some inspiration from that also (http://www.finlandiatalo.fi).

I think the theme of electronics is quite universal but I will also attach a slide set where I have collected photos of Helsinki. The logo does not have to combine both "themes" but if you can get a nice idea how to do that, even better. Here are a few links where you can find information and pictures of Helsinki:
