Need an elegantly simple "caret." ( ^ ) The symbol will be the centerpiece for a book cover and website. The symbol itself should look simple but suggestive of mysticism with rich layers of meaning. The symbol will be appear on a dark textured background, but a simple black version for common use on a white background is required as well. It should represent a universal truth, something anyone in the world could look at and have an emotional response. The symbol should feel ancient in origin, yet timeless and contemporary. It should be recognizable as unique, despite being a common character. The specific meaning of the symbol depends on the viewer perspective, which include:

(1) Religare - Latin for to Bind, Make Two into One; Unification
(2) Caret - Latin for to lack, to be separated from; to be free from
(3) Raising to power (common usage in math)
(4) Pathway - Buddhist might see it as a path to enlightenment
(5) Mountain - barrier, challenge to overcome
(6) Light - Hope, signal to follow, illumination
(7) Splitting - Reality is split in our world relative to truth of universe

A lot to incorporate, and probably not possible to capture a feel of all of these points, but the more emotional depth, the better.
