Hi there! Thanks for taking a look at our contest. We are looking for creative interior designers to help us with our vision of the future of private commuter transport in central London. Your designs have the potential to shape how Londoners get to work and are therefore of great importance.

We are looking for designs for our exciting new private shuttle bus for London. The service will comprise of a fleet of single decker buses, that are specifically targetted at young, professional inner London commuters.

INTERIOR DESIGN REQUIREMENTS:

Our new service comes with a premium price tag, so the winning design will have a premium feel.

All buses will ideally have around 24+ black leather armchair style seats. But instead of having 2 sets of seats on each side, there will be 2 on one side and one on the other to allow for extra room. All rows of seats will have plenty of legroom and a small, sleek wooden bench/table will allow passengers to put their drinks/laptops down while they ride.

The seats themselves will be comfortable, relaxing and ultimately have armrests on either side (something like a bucket-seat). I am open to your ideas on designs of the seats, but they must be minimal, simple and sleek.

All unsightly poles and clutter will be removed to give a minimal effect.

There will be a small kiosk located near the front of the bus that will serve drinks and snacks. The kiosk should allow a host/hostess to stand behind it and serve drinks/snacks. There will also be an ipad mounted on the kiosk which will allow our passengers to scan their e-ticket for fast-boarding. There will need to be room for a mini-fridge to house cold drinks. And ideas for a way to display packaged snacks will be required too.

The overall 'feel' of the interior should be simple, minimal, calming and prefessional. The colour scheme to be used - (black and whites are preferred as the main colours, with allowance for the wooden tables).

Also, on single decker buses in England, the rear flooring area in raised to accommodate the rear wheels and engine. (There are two raised areas over the front wheels too).

OUTSIDE THE WINDOWS:
When looking out of the windows of the bus, ideally we will be able to see London imagery (maybe the bus will be driving over a bridge that crosses the River Thames), or maybe there will be an iconic London landmark in the background. Either way, outside the bus should look like a London scene in the daytime.

For the size/dimensions of the bus, please search in Google for a 'Plaxton Centro' (image supplied in attached files-for approx interior size).
