i am very interesting in this project. my question is, do you want a fully finished cover or a sketch?

Hi Allen, thanks for your message. You can start with a sketch if you like. The final job will be illustrations for the whole book including the cover. I look forward to seeing your work. Andrew

G'day mate,


I'm very interested in this project, it caught my eye immediately. Quick question, is this brief for just the cover or for the pages as well? I understand that you've mentioned that you'll be choosing a designer from the front cover submissions to eventually do the pages, but my question is if the two jobs are one and the same or another project altogether?

It's the same project. I just had trouble using elance because I found two illustrators I thought might suit the project and wanted them to just do $50 worth so I could get an idea of how they'd approach it - but I didn't want to ask them to do it for free. So I came up with this as a way to do it - if I could pay people a few bucks to have a crack at the cover, I might find someone who could do all the illustrations.

I don't see myself ever making any money out of this. I wrote the poem when I was 17 (I'm now 36) and just always thought it would make a nice book. 

And I now have a daughter who is 22 months old. I'm hoping she'll love it!

hello just scanned over this project very quickly and see your wanting 2 charactor designs, 2boys and a turtle ?

this is a great project although the buget its very low as you have 1st and 2nd place, winning design gets 90usd but then take of 15% that goes to design crowd, i think this is your problem.

If your interested in making the payment 140usd for 1st place i would personally enter providing you with 3 scetch style illistrations for all 3 charactors.
