I'd like to obtain a logo for a miniature golf course that I plan on starting. The course will be family oriented. It is a family run business, so the name (more below) would be prominent. Overall, I like a traditional kind of crest, but with some several modern font/touches. The attached "The Course - Wente Vineyards" logo does a good job with it. I'm open to that interpretation. I don't want it to be old/staunch/stuffy, but I do like the old time, traditional feel for a "golf course logo".
The name of the course, "Longview Greens", is a play on words, as it contains the names of my wife and I, in a play on words. So, I'm very much in favor of a pronounced "L" and "G", overlaid on top of each other (with the L being more prominent) in the logo. The "Pine Lakes" logo that is attached kinda uses that approach.
Colors wise, I'd like a deep hunter green to be prominent and dominant. As for a secondary color(s), I wouldn't mind incorporating a Texas-color theme of red/white/blue, but more subdued - like in a tight/thin border - or something to that affect. Maybe the play is to do a tight/crisp red/white/blue border with "Texas" stars. If that didn't work, I'm open to a 2nd, auxiliary color (like a yellow, etc.) to tie it all together.
The course will be set in Texas, so typical Texas imagery (e.g. Texas flag, stars, cactus, wagon wheel) could be in play, as for a central image the letters are set against or accompany. It doesn't have to have this element, if it makes it "too busy". Just an idea. Maybe a better idea is to use the "Longview" to mean a long view out over some Texas landscape (rolling hills, a few trees, a cactus, wagon wheel, maybe an oil derrick, etc.) with a "golf green and a golf pin" in the distance/center of the image. The "Springdale Country Club" crest/logo that I attached has that feel, which is cool. It's a little more traditional, then hip/cool, but I like it.
An "Est. 2016", or split up the "20" on one side and "16" on the other would be slick.
Font wise, I like something that uses something like the attached "The Falls" font, but I'm open. A little 3D shadow would make it pop, in my opinion. I also like the way they did that whole logo/image. It is fresh, modern, but not garish.
Lastly, I'd prefer the image to incorporate a crossed standard golf flag and putter, as it is a miniature golf course, and not a full blown golf course. Like "crossing swords", similar to the "Springdale Country Club" crest/logo. The "Chennault Park" logo is another one that nicely ties in the putter.
These are all just ideas and in the end, I'm sure something have to go and some have to stay, but those are are ideas that resonate with me.

Agradable de tener
- As an minor, accompanying color, a Texas red/white/blue border - perhaps having stars embedded in it; A "Long View" of an abstract Texas landscape image in the center - one with a few trees, buttes, a cactus, oil derrick, tumbleweed and a putting green at the center with a flag in it; overlapping "L" (Longview) and "G" (Greens) would be slick; crossing putter/golf flags in very background; an "Est. 2016" would be cool
No debería tener
- The color theme should be dominated by a dark, hunter green, not another primary color, but an auxiliary/minor color (yellow, etc. or a red/white/blue) should accompany it.
