Based in Edinburgh UK, Talos International Services (www.talosis.com) provides security services of various types in challenging or high threat environments internationally for government and private sector organizations. We provide risk assessments, security audits and training, medical support, close protection for individuals, groups and events, crisis management, and evacuation coordination; we enable businesses to operate in challenging locations. Our experts are highly trained and qualified with exceptional experience worldwide.

The name Talos was selected in competition and derives from Greek Mythology where it was a giant man of bronze gifted by Zeus to protect Europa from invaders and pirates, circling the island of Crete three times daily (essentially establishing a protective perimeter). The centre of the current logo (inside the "O") is a stylized symbol of Zeus; we use it as a customized "bullet" on documents and acts as an abbreviated logo.

We purposefully omitted any reference to security in the name/logo and the web-page should be discreet in the same manner - we provide services of this nature but do not draw attention to ourselves. Generic images for visuals should be used as opposed to any existing stock photography we possess as a company. Imagery that relay protection, an international reach, innovation, modern vistas, varied countrysides (desert, jungle, urban settings, an old fortress?) would be seen positively.

The current colour of blue and white in the principal logo has received positive response for the clean lines, and the grey-ish scale writing similarly works. The "O" with the symbol inside has been used as customized "bullets" inside of documents, and we envisioned several other potential uses for web pages, etc.

However the integration of bronze as a third colour given the origin of Talos could be a consideration as well.

The final design should communicate clarity, an international reach in difficult areas with our broad experience and strength without being aggressive. There must be a section where the countries we have experience operating in is displayed graphically (i.e. a global map where the countries are coloured in). Countries are USA, Canada, UK, France, Bosnia, UAE, Qatar, Libya, Tunisia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, Sudan, Egypt, Central African Republic, Somalia, Rwanda, Somaliland. Additional sections should include "Our Clients", "Our Services", "Our Expertise", "Join Our Team" which should have a personal details form and ability to upload a CV, "Our Contact Details" which should also allow for submission of a web enquiry
