I realise now that the individual feedback is not public, so I'll take some of the more prescient ones and include here (to hopefully guide future submissions).
"Thank you for your submission. Your writeup explaining your reasoning is great and it is one of the more non "cookie-cutter" submissions.
It is heading in the right direction, but the font is too heavy for my liking (lending it towards what I perceive as a more dated look as opposed to a more modern, lighter, cleaner font such as Oswald, Roboto, and the like which would be my preference). Whether those fonts would lend themselves well to this design direction remains to be seen."
"This is one submission where the symbol is something I like and could potentially work from (but I'd have to figure out some story with it to make it more personal).
However, while I understand the reasoning for going with an all caps heavier font, in my personal experiments it's never worked for me (almost overemphasizing the "Toolbox" type feel to "tulbox"). Your three submissions are clean, legible, and good, but serve to confirm that even though I like them, I much prefer a modern, lighter, cleaner font such as Oswald, Roboto, and the like (the trick being how to incorporate with any symbolic elements while still keeping the same feel).
Additionally, while my personal favourite colours are green and blue, I think all the designs have confirmed that I'd like to continue with the suggested #993300 red that I've used previously."
I have submitted my first proposal for your logo, so any feedback will be welcoming.
Best Regards,
Black Graphic
