Motaquip are a national car parts distributor operating in the United Kingdom (www.motaquip.com) and preparing to move into Europe. We sell only our own branded parts to independent businesses known as Motor Factors who in turn supply independent (non-franchised) garages. Motor Factors stock the product, receive orders by telephone and deliver the parts by van to the garage. Speed is an important element of the service required and the logo designed could suggest this element of the service visually. Our customers trade under their own identity, in most cases this does not include our brand name Motaquip. In Northern Ireland we have a large customer base (15 distributors) and they have asked us to come up with a proposal to promote them collectively under one identity to help them grow their individual businesses and compete better with larger competitors who operate multiple branches. Attached are photo's of one of our distributors vans showing how they have used our brand, this is not a corporate design but one developed locally.
Our logo comes in two forms ; landscape and portrait, both are included in the attached documents, we tend to use the landscape for documents and packaging and the portrait for everything else.
We are building a proposition for them to sign up to and fulfil with their customers to ensure consistency across all of the different distributors with the objective of building the new brand through a variety of activities e.g. mailers, van livery, clothing and stationary with a view to advertising the network in trade press in Q3/4 2016. The attached document details the base proposition proposal that we are due to present on 16 January 2016.
We have regularly used the first part of our brand 'Mota' to create activity examples being:
Motavate - programme to build sales
Motawise - quarterly offer sheet
Motanews - quarterly magazine
Motamail - in-house email system
We have therefore chosen Motanet to be the 'sub-brand' and short for Motaquip Network. The logo must allow use across the suggested uses above, use our existing colour ways (attached), be memorable and dynamic and modern bearing in mind our distributors are well established businesses and not at the cutting edge of technology and be easily associated with the Motaquip brand name. We are looking for a strap line to go with the logo, one suggestion could be ‘Your Motaquip Distributor Network’ but you may have better ideas!
Any further questions you may have please email me. I'm conscious this project straddles Christmas and the new year but will pick up and respond to questions over the holidays.
