Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We are the Friends of Ygnacio Valley Library, an all-volunteer group that supports our neighborhood library. We need a logo that should:
• Say: Friends of YV Library or Friends of Ygnacio Valley Library
• Be scalable so we can use it on letterhead, post cards, return address labels
• Use only 2 or 3 colors
• Reproduce well and look good in black and white
• Be Microsoft format friendly

Logo:
Some ideas we like:
• A mountain: We live at the foot of a small mountain (3,900 feet / 1,188 meters) with 2 overlapping peaks. The peak on the right should be a bit taller than the peak on the left.
Either a stylized design or a natural depiction of “our” mountain is fine.
• An open book (maybe showing pages turning?). The book should not look like a Bible.
• A tree to signify intellectual growth and/or a flower to signify blooming of the intellect.
• Can say either Friends of YV Library or Friends of Ygnacio Valley Library. The word “Friends” is important so perhaps it can be larger.
The words should be underneath the logo to give us maximum flexibility with layout.
• Use happy colors

Some of us really like the mountain theme and some of us really like the open book theme :-/ We hope the designers can help with this dichotomy!

Some ideas we don’t like:
• Spines of books on a shelf
• Feminine script
• Depressing colors

About our group:
We support the YV Library in the many ways it serves our community. To do this, we sell donated gently-used books to raise money which we then use to fund:
• Books and materials to supplement the library collection
• Programs for adults, seniors, children
• Beautification of the library and grounds

Agradable de tener

• If you include a book, the feel that the pages of the book are turning
• I uploaded (I think) a logo that several of us like. Ours shouldn't be a copy but we like that it shows movement.
• Again, some of us want our mountain to be in the logo and some of us don't care.

• A pile of books; books lined up on a shelf so only their spines are showing; black background; feminine script; depressing colors
