Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We are a small automobile racing team that engineers and races semi-pro race vehicles (example car image included). We are grounded in the science and engineering, and take our name (DeltaV Racing) from that heritage.

We would like a logo that could adorn our cars, like a traditional hood badge, our equipment, our building, and finally also perhaps our racing suits.

DeltaV, generally expressed as Δv and meaning 'change in velocity' is taken from a previous career and is the name sake of our team. (A more fully expressed equation image is also included)

To date, the small group of people that has done the majority of the engineering and fabricating has been referred to loosely as "The Skunk Works", also an homage to a previous career. The mascot there of, is a black and white image of a skunk. This is an image that has symbolized a development discipline that lives within our group, and its inclusion would be valued.

While a traditional 'crest' is not absolutely necessary, one of the most prominent uses of the logo would be directly on the vehicles, likely in the traditional position of a makers mark or 'hood ornament'. Think of the Ferrari prancing horse, or the Porsche crest as analogous examples for our use case. These examples not only identify the brand, but also, to the in the know, tell a story.

We are a data driven organization that delves heavily into leading edge technology. We tend to be first adopters, and R&D is our niche. This is reflected in our use of a well known mathematical equations to describe our cars, but also a bit unorthodox, as reflected in our adoption of the 'skunk' image.

We would like to incorporate the above in a manor that is pleasing to all, but provides a subtile surprise to those that know, or choose to think a bit deeper on its components and their meanings...
