Background information:

We are seeking a logo for a community bikeshare to be launched in Corvallis, OR in 2016. The program will enable short-term bike rentals for community members / visitors to access the destinations they need for work, school, and personal activities. There will be various stations throughout town for people to check out and return bikes.

A professional logo will help ensure a cohesive brand identity and a high level of professionalism for on-bike branding, signage, public outreach materials, the program’s online presence, etc.

Background on Corvallis: Corvallis is a university town (home of Oregon State University) with about 50,000 residents. It is nestled in the foothills of the Coast Range mountains in western Oregon, and features lots of outdoor recreation opportunities (including biking).

Logo Request:

The logo should feature a fun, simple, bright, bold, and clean design, so when it is viewed from afar on the side of a passing bike, or scaled down to be used on printed materials, for example, its readability and visual impact is not diminished.

Emerging concepts that should be considered include: Health, active transportation, connectivity, access, openness, environment, mobility

We are considering the name ‘Pedal Corvallis,’ so designs should consider utilizing the theme of a flower with ‘petals.’ This is not mandatory, but should inspire the designers’ creativity.

Pedal Corvallis (Note: Please provide 2 versions of each logo, one that includes text and one that does not. Also, in the future we plan to use the name ‘Pedal’ with bikeshare programs in other towns, so please plan that the word ‘Corvallis’ would likely be changed in the future. Also, please feel free to suggest other names / ideas!)
