The E and S is interesting, and the arch seems nicely representational of a bolder (or a setting/rising sun). But am not taken with the black background or the use of the banner across the bottom. Thank you for your submission. Would like to see more of your work.

I have updated by uploading samples of vintage style logos we really like. Hopefully, this will be more helpful with providing a starting place for all you wonderful designers.

As for colors schemes, the dark green on white background and white on black or dark grey background is what I am looking for.
