Does should "not" have: "No" company name or logo mean they want text or they don't want text?

Hi everyone! First I want to thank everyone for your submissions thus far. There was some pretty good submissions and I greatly appreciate the hard work put into them. At this point if I haven''t provided you some feedback the design submitted didn''t hit what I was looking for so you are free to submit more designs. I saw that most designs were just too cartoony. Keep in mind that this logo will be my main company logo and will go on the website, business cards, etc so I need something with edge that looks professional. Also, we are a software development company so I want to make the logo look serious with some techy feel to it. I''m also lifting the lettering ban since I have gotten some submissions with it that look pretty good. Thanks again!

Hi, I will try my best...but,... don't you think it is kind of contradictory asking for a teddy bear and at the same time not to look cartoonish and also serious??? I will send you another option but with a more real life bear, because probably that is what you looking for, yo cannot achieve a "serious" look in a company logo using a teddy bear no way!

Thanks for your input. Just to clear things up, I'm not asking for a teddy bear outright. It's just a design that does not capture a real type bear to be more specific. If you simply provide a teddy bear drawing with 'BearCoda' attached to it then it's not going to win. I'm looking for a teddy type design that is simple, professional, and has the tech feel to it. We're a software development company so keep that in mind when creating the design. I've already received a few designs that have managed to capture this pretty well so yes it can be done. In any case if you want to take the real bear approach I am open to it. Note that as of yet none of the designs I have received with that design concept have been considered in the running to win. I really appreciate the input though and I will be updating the brief with more details if that will help everyone.

Again many thanks so far for the submissions great work from everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know that I extended the deadline until the following Wednesday. This is to allow others to make submissions as well as to allow anyone else already participating to update or submit new designs. I also updated the brief in case you guys want to check it out.

Could you possibly start giving feedback on designs/eliminate designs. As designers this really helps us head in the right direction.
