Who we are:
Mindfulness Labs is a non profit org., developing a platform to allow classroom teachers (k through college) and other organization leaders (seniors groups, corporate teams, etc) to easily integrate a science based, secular, smart mindfulness program into their daily activities.

What we need:
A logo that will inform the entire site's design aesthetic and will communicate a smart, secular, image that is rooted in neuroscience. Dangerous but caring. Something that will instantly communicate secure, substantial support, with a touch of gentle, playful irony. The idea that mindfulness meditation could be "industrialized" is inherently funny so a serious design that "includes everyone in on the joke" would be nice.

Style:
We have played with architectural retro designs of the 60's, 50's and 40's (think Telstar, 50's sci-fi, Art Deco futurism) but would be interested in seeing your ideas, from contemporary technical cool to future focused well... let your imagination go! Mindfulness Labs!

Colors:
Black and white is good. In our wild moments we have leaned towards a soothing pallette, pastels and earth tones, but surprise us! "Lego vivid" might work too.

Design cues:
We started with ideas that included an image of the "Lab" incorporated into the logo. From a minimal 60's style chrome and glass curve with a "starburst" antenna skyward, through a substantial 40's factory/lab (think Detroit in its prime) Perhaps a factory viewed in perspective with "Mindfulness Labs" making up the two facing massive walls, through downward views of architectural drawings implying cutting edge science. For what its worth we also own the domains for MNDFLNS and you might play with integrating that. We like retro because it implies that we have been around LONG before the "new age" movement caught on (And we sort of have been...).

Industrial "tongue-in-cheek", Retro Future, massive, global, progress, secular, science, architectural, technical illustration, art deco, Telstar, Neuroscience, gently ironic, Age 9 to 90, Utilitarian with a flourish, maybe a subtle splash of art neuveau nature.

I have attached a few images but let us know what "Mindfulness Labs" means to you.

Your design will ultimately inform the entire design trajectory of the site so this is a very exciting and critical process for us.
