Resumen de Diseño de Logo

The assignment is to create a logo for a mid-size, Methodist community church based in Dallas, Texas. We want a new graphic logo that is fresh, welcoming and suggests the service and mission orientation of our church. The name of our church is Spring Valley United Methodist Church. We think we want more focus on people, service and caring that on architecture or typical religious symbols.
The mission of our church is: Spring Valley is an inclusive church that loves God, grows spiritually, serves others, and shares hope thru Jesus Christ.
We want a graphic symbol plus suggestion of typestyle that would work with it.
You may consider the Methodist “cross and flame” symbol, but we are not interested in that symbol being the primary graphic of our logo. If you Google “Methodist cross and flame” you will see the symbol.
Design should work in black and white or color
Avoid symbols that suggest “Texas or cowboy” like cactus, guns, horses, hats, etc.
There are no nearby springs or valleys, Spring Valley is the name of a well known road.
If you check out our website at www.springvalleyumc.org you will note that large stained glass windows accent our mid-century modern architecture.
