Business Overview:
Wicked Sister Weaving is a boutique weaving business located on a small farm deep in the Adelaide Hills of Australia. Creating beautiful handwoven textiles, Wicked Sister Weaving specialises in baby wraps, dolly wraps and slings, as well as luxury scarves, rugs and throws made from alpaca fleeces produced on our farm.
Baby wraps are usually custom-designed in consultation with a client. Dolly wraps and slings may be inspired by these wraps or designed by the Wicked Sister.


What does ‘Wicked Sister Weaving’ as a brand mean?
The Wicked Sister is that one sister we all have – flawed, fierce, passionate and protective. She is a force of nature and sometimes misunderstood, but her love for her family outshines everything. She is brave, irrepressible and inspirational. She is tactile, but will also listen to you and be there for you, when you need it most. She is the misunderstood Disney villain Princess. Dark and light, beauty and the beast.
The word Wicked means ‘awesome’ and it’s used in alternative culture like surfing and extreme sports. So when we say ‘Wicked Sister Weaving’ – the sister kicks butt and is awesome. The word wicked also means ‘naughty’, ‘cheeky’, ’precocious’. So the Wicked Sister weaver is also mischievous.
Brands that come to mind which, like Wicked Sister Weaving are edgy and premium quality would be: Mad Hatter Warped and Woven; Jamie Oliver. Customers of the Wicked Sister are the type of folk who will pay extra to buy premium free range eggs; they’re driving a Prius or a Tesla sports car.

What I want the audience to feel and think about my brand /Tone and Image
I want the audience to feel that they are receiving a piece of highly desirable art. I want the personality of the Wicked Sister to be communicated through the logo/mark.

Colour scheme:
Autumn tones – Magenta, purples, burnt oranges and yellows, natural greens.

Messages: Features, Benefits and Value (The single most important message you want the target market to take from the communication?)
Key themes are:
- Community (we’re in this together)
- The Wicked Sister has got your back (and your baby)
- Beautiful weaving
- Unique pieces of woven art

Deliverables:
A logo that can be used in combination with the business name.
The logo should be a graphic that is simple and unique as an easily identifiable ‘mark’. It needs to be simple because it will be used on its own on an embroidered tag or label. The mark will represent the business brand. As an illustration, it could be abstract (like an interpretation of woven fabric in an abstract or watercolour style) or some kind of physical (animal, human or plant) form. I don’t want it to be wicked-witch-like but something strongly feminine is ok. I am also interested to see something done with the letters WSW that reflects the brand values.

For the text that goes with the logo, I would like a hard and soft element in the text of the business name to highlight the word ‘sister'.

Brand will need to be able to be converted to print for:
• Information cards
• Babywearing instructions
• Wrap tags & middle markers
• Post cards
• Printing onto bags and other promotional items (T-shirts etc)

Parents who wear their babies using woven wraps; children (using the dolly slings for role-play) and anyone wanting luxury home textiles. (Textiles are limited to rugs, throws and scarves). Note, this product is a premium brand.
