We are looking to design a logo for the product/idea we are launching in India. We are planning to sell Vibram FiveFinger shoes in India. The shoes are meant for people intending to run barefoot - which is a trend catching on very fast around the world. The science is that we are more prone to injuries if we run with a lot of protection because we were never meant to run like that. More info. on http://www.vibramfivefingers.it/ and www.birthdayshoes.com
We are branding our business as our domain name - "GoBarefoot.in". While right now the business is only about these brand of shoes, we hope to expand to more fitness-related categories in the future. However, we will limit ourselves to barefoot-related products (more shoes, socks, natural running-related equipment, etc.) - as is clear by the name of our website. We need to create a logoaround this brand because the logo will drive every promotional material we create (e.g. business cards, banners, brochures, etc.). I have attached some examples from related websites/clubs.
I have also included our initial thinking on the logo - which is a stick figure with prominent bare feet. The logo also has the words "Gobarefoot" on it to highlight the name of our web portal and our brand. We may/may not use the "Gobarefoot" depending on the use of the logo. For e.g., on our website, we will not use the words, on our business cards we will, on our T-shirts, we will not use the words, but have them separately. Therefore, the words should be easily removable from the stick figure, and the stick figure should be able to come out independently of the words.
Of course, if you have a better idea than the stick figure, that's welcome too. However, we like the stick figure idea as of now.

Update 2: We think the mascot could also be a bear (to be a wordplay on "bare"foot). I have uploaded a picture (which cannot be used as it is copyright, of course) of a bear that could be used as a mascot and also to highlight bare feet. The "oo" in the foot could be the 2 feet of the bear to integrate the mascot into the logo. However, it is not necessary to integrate the mascot in the logo if you have a better suggestion.
