Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We need a logo designed for our new Business Consulting Company based in Victoria Australia. The Business name is "Scopus" Consulting which has a Latin translation (Scopus) of "Target" or "Scope" etc. We would really like the logo to utilise all the letters in the word "Scopus" and have thought that incorporating a 'Target' or a 'scope' type picture/icon as the 'O' in Scopus. We also thought that this target / scope icon or picture could have a smaller picture / icon of the Cardinal Directions (i.e. a compass type picture). With these two pictures combined, it would give an overall icon of a ‘scope’ or ‘target’ that insinuates locking on to a target or focusing on an objective, along with the Cardinal Directions that would insinuate directions. When combined, it suggests that Scopus focuses on targets with clear direction. We really like the colour blue for the lettering but we are also open to any suggestions regarding colours. We are not sure if the Cardinal Directions should have North South East West incorporated it the design but we are also open to the artists design on this.
We have attached (a very poor quality) concept drawing as a word document as a reference. This attached file is by no means exactly what we are after but is a very generalise idea of what we were thinking in regards to this design.
Please note that whilst this is our initial concept of a logo design, we are absolutely open to new design concepts and suggestions.
