Resumen de Diseño de Logo

Half the work is already done! Starting with our completed vector logo, we need you to spice things up by transforming this logo into 3D. But we are looking for something more than just a simple 3D extrude (like the attached picture). We're excited to see what you can come up with.

With the logo shape and lettering set in stone, you can spend all your time playing with thickness, roundness, texture lighting, color (yes, you can experiment with color all you want ––we're not married to the color). For that matter, not even transparency is not off limits ––if it reveals something that's worth the transparency. Maybe it would look good if it were full of produce –– maybe a cross-section of earth with crops on top –– or maybe that would ruin it –– maybe it should just be a solid color with great texture and shading, but that's your department.

Backgrounds will not be considered in our decision. The winner's 3D logo will work with or without a background.

You do not have to use true 3D to win this competition, you are more than welcome to fake it in 2D.

That brings us to questions that true 3D artists will surely have. What about environmental attributes such as reflectivity? Go ahead and use an environments for previz, to show us what you've done, but be sure to include a version without an environment.

If you are creating the logo in Maya, Max, or Blender, we DO want an orthographic view (a straight-on view) to consider what your 3D logo will look like without perspective. If you're using a true 3D software platform like these, please be sure to mention it with your submission, because we would love to have a [*.ma] file or an [*.obj] file to work with upon completion––but that is NOT a requirement.

Pronounced "E-gay-rall" with a slightly rolled "r", Higueral Produce is an American company with Mexican roots. It sells jalapeño, serrano, anaheim, caribe, and pasilla peppers, roma tomatoes, tomatillos, limes, and mangos to everything from grocery stores to wholesalers to chain stores and food services entities all over North America.

You may be wondering what in the world the current logo is supposed to represent. Here's the story. The green shape was a VERY abstract view of the Mexican states "Baja California," "Baja California Sur," "Sonora," and "Sinaloa". The arrow pointed to the original farm from which Higueral Produce spawned. It was near Los Mochis, Sinaloa, and is called "Agrícola Luque". Finally, the green shape was supposed to resemble the letters "A" and "L", which stand for "Agrícola Luque."
