Looking for a brand identity for a concept called Super Hoops. Super Hoops is a children's basketball participation program currently based in Melbourne, Australia, aimed at Primary (Grade) School children from grade 1 (6 or 7 yr olds) to grades 6/7 (11/12/13 yr olds). The program will go into schools and run clinics to help develop basketball skills and awareness, develop self confidence, and get the kids moving and enjoying physical activity. The branding needs to appeal to this sector and also inspire confidence in the schools that will promote the program, and the parent group that will pay for participation. Most programs of this nature are "build it and they will come" type scenarios that are run out of stadia, and require the participants to go to the program. Super Hoops is about taking the program to the schools, and therefore the kids. Super Hoops is run by an experienced basketball coach who has been mentored by basketball legends and leading personalities, and who is a level 1 accredited coach. In the first instance, a brand identity is required, which will then be expanded to suit the web, merchandise like drink bottles, uniforms, etc. Part of the identity project is a suitable mascot.

• Given the name - Super Hoops - it may be a good idea to user hero type styling in the logo, or to develop the mascot in a hero-type, but as an Australian native animal. Given that it is basketball, and jumping is critical, a kangaroo, joey, or wallaby may be the ideal option for this character. Having said all of this, nothing too cliched, or over charicatured. Maybe even look more at a less mainstream native australian animal,like a wallaroo, bilby, quokka, etc.
