Dear Project Owner, Thank you for your invite,
but as stated in my profile I ONLY accept
"Payment is Guaranteed" projects.
I believe I am speaking for most of the
serious, hard working designers out here.
We have all had bad experiences with Non-Guaranteed
projects,most designers have discovered that
even after spending long hours of our time on the work
itself and after several refinement requests
from the client we still receive no payment,
no feedback & no winner of the contest is declared.
Most of the non-guaranteed projects not only get
extended time after time for periods of up to
3 months & more but in the end the
clients request a refund and have collected
enough ideas to take our work and go get the
job done by a local Graphics Designer in their
area. We have seen this happen over and over
again! If you would like serious designer’s
participation would you please guarantee the
project out of respect for all of us .
Thank You very much for your
understanding....

I don't understand why people just submit the designs to non-payment.

Just copy my views and paste it to every non-payment where ever you see them.

I almost think that the 'non-secured payment' option should be done away with here...I'm in the school of thought that solicitation of ANY aspect of creative services means that clients pay...PERIOD ~ I was thinking that your exact post should be copied and spread everywhere here...Albeit, the proposed basis of the site in and of itself is akin to winning the lottery, I've had a few instances in which I've submitted work to what seems like great projects, only to have no winner announced. I can withstand a fair and competitive environment, it's the democratic way of course. But, to have NO WINNER at all allows the potential of WIDESPREAD FRAUD to take root in too many situations.

I speculate that some (or most) of the 'non-payment clients' are fishing for ideas that they can replicate on the cheap (free) somewhere else (not that $200 ~ $300 is a lot of money per se)...In many ways it's 'intellectual property theft' being facilitated by ill-conceived conceptual and structural design, and too much altruistic bias towards the 'happiness of the clients' by the DesignCrowd administrators that almost ruins what can be a great site for creatives to pick up a side project here and there. I've sent suggestions as to how it can be more fair towards the designers as oppose to giving all the caveats to those seeking solutions, but who knows how far that will go. It does pose a dilemma for a lot of creatives here...In the words of the Clash, "Do I Stay or Do I Go?" ~ In too many instances it's like playing 'Russian-Roulette', and I don't think that high-stakes 'risk' and 'uncertainty' should be a part of any business transaction whatsoever ~ M+Vx
