Resumen de Diseño de Logo y Tarjeta de Presentación
I'm a privacy consultant based in Canada. I used to do this work "on the side", but I am now making this my main business, so I need a logo and business card design that help establish my brand and make me stand out. The name of the Company is Morgan Privacy Consulting - Morgan being my surname.
Here is some key info:
- the brand is focused on me, so showcasing "Morgan" is important.
- though the business is "Morgan Privacy Consulting" it will often go by "Morgan Privacy" for short.
- the target market is Canadian private and government businesses/organizations, but I am hoping to also appeal to the not-for profit/charity/community sector, as this market is largely untapped for privacy consulting services (and I volunteer significantly in my free time). Showcasing the Canadian aspect is important.
- the logo and card should convey maturity and professionalism, but not make me seem like all the other stuffy consultants. I am crowdsourcing my logo and card design, so there is no way I can be considered stuffy.
- one of the key differentiators between me and other privacy professionals is that I see privacy as an enabler of business objectives (establishing public trust, consumer confidence), whereas other privacy professionals are seen as a barrier, or they focus too much on complying with legislation. Others might say "no", but I try to find ways to say "yes, but here's how to do it in a way that is more respectful of people's privacy".
In terms of "no-go"s for the logo: no locks or keys - that is very 2000s privacy. These symbols perpetuate a stereoptype. As well, I am not a lawyer, and don't want to be perceived as one as part of my brand. That being said, I am well-versed in reading and interpreting privacy laws, and have lawyers as friends - I just don't have the credentials, and I don't want to be seen as someone spends hours debating the meaning of "per event".
The goal of the business card is to leave an impression, help someone remember meeting me, and get them to the website, so that they can learn more about how I can help them.
