Instructions for new chimney draught excluder
Add your question or comments below
Hi! So, which format is de final document that you need? Must it contains the informations shown in the word document, but with a better design? Would you like still like black and white simple axonometries but with a cleaner design? Thanks!
Hi Noa,
Thanks for getting in touch. Yes that's correct, the instructions must convey the same information but with a better design. I don't have a clear idea in mind of what I want, which is why I went for the competition. The style doesn't matter so much, so long as the instructions are simple, clear and self explanatory. They can be in black and white or colour, there is not an issue about number of colours for printing. The instructions will go on an A5 piece of thin card or stiff paper that is folded, with more information on the other side.
Thanks

Hi Noa,
That''s lookinggood, thank you. No 1 is the best design for showing the sheep in the chimney, and with the text at the top gives it better balance if the card is folded.
There are just afew small alterations that need to be made.
Instruction 1 - theround piece at the top of the handle, the clamp, is already attached to thesheep. So the black disc should be on the larger disc, and the handle threadsin.
Instruction 2 – the rodis the same length as the handle, so it would be better if both the arrows werethe same length.
I know it is diagrammatical, but the actual shape of the handle and rod are more organic, with a bit morecurve to it. If it’s possible to show this it would make me happy J I’ll attach a betterdetailed picture of the handle and rod so you can see what I mean.
With instructions 3 and4, there is a small tag hanging from the handle to remind people this is in thechimney. Can you have it showing hanging from the end of the handle, a smalloval shape? The colour is mostly green.
With instruction 4, canthe sheep be a little lower in the flue? It should fit just above the top ofthe fireplace. I like the way you have cut away the chimney to show it inplace. And I think green is not the right colour. The product is grey but thiswould not work with the grey background. Can we see what it would look like with a light brick red background anda grey chimney sheep?
These are all tweaks, Ilike the basic outline of the instructions.
See the update, hope it´s all fine now! Cheers Ñ=
Hi Noa,
That''s lookinggreat now thanks. I''ll choose yours as the winning design. Can you just make acouple more adjustments for me?
no 1 the handleshould be straight.
No 2 when I said Iwanted some curve to it, I meant the connectors in the centre. In the picturethey come together as a lump, but they should be with a curve. Like in thepicture of the 15" sheep, I''ll attach that as well.
No 4 I like thelight coloured brick effect in drawing Design #2347771 with the grey coloured chimney sheep. Some of my customers think they need to buy a sheep that fills the wholechimney, but usually there is a narrow part, as shown in the profile drawingyou have done. I also have a sketch up image of the sheep in the chimney, whichshows the narrow part. Is it possible to adjust the image a little to show thechimney narrowing a little, so the sheep does not need the fill the wholechimney.
And just one more thing, and you aregoing to think I am really picky for this, but I like the details to be right! –can you make the logs in No4 a little bigger to be the same size as in no 3?
I’m really happy with the instructionsyou have done, I hope you don’t think I am being super picky, but I am going toget many thousands of these printed so we need to get them right!
Thanks

Hi Sally,
Thanks for your feedback. Sorry for the delay, but I didn't get any notification for your comments, so I saw it today. I think if you comment using the "feedback" option wherever, designers get a notification and are aware about new comments and stuff.
So I submited a corrected version, with all the details. I did as I could the modifications on number 4. I understand that you want the instruction as good as possible, I would want the same!
Cheers
