We need a logo for a community organization located in the suburb of Yarralumla, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Background
Although Yarralumla is a suburb, it has a village feel.
Yarralumla is a tree-lined suburb bounded by Lake Burley Griffin on one side, sitting next to Parliament House and the Embassy precinct at one end, with government house, the Royal Canberra Golf Club, Westbourne Woods and the Old Canberra Brickworks at the other end. It is the site of Canberra’s first arboretum (the Westbourne Woods) and one of the major issues in the suburb has been restoration of the Canberra Brickworks (which is dominated by a large chimney stack).
Most of Canberra’s rowing and sailing clubs have their bases on the foreshore of the lake in Yarralumla.

We are also a member of a federation - the Inner South Canberra Community Council, which also uses a tree in its current logo
http://www.isccc.org.au/about-us
We are aware that many other groups use trees in their logos including the local primary school and the Inner South Canberra Community Council. We are positioned as the leading residents association within the region, so want something that is distinctive and not simply another tree logo to make the set.
Actualizaciones
We are currently also considering designs that incorporate "YRA" into the logo. While this was not our original intent, many of the great designs received through the contest have used a 'Y' and since we are known as the YRA the process has made us realize we should not discard YRA just because we are trying to be recognized as the Yarralumla Residents Association. We have also received some great designs incorporating trees and people and our committee will be reviewing them all once the contest closes in the next few days. Added Sunday, July 17, 2016

Requisitos
Debes tener
- The words “Yarralumla Residents”
- OR the words "Yarralumla Residents Association"
- OR the abbreviation "The YRA" or "YRA"
- It must look good printed in black and white.
- Distinctive enough to be recognized from a distance (for possible use on T-shirts or shopping bags)
- It must work as part of our letterhead. The letter head will include the logo plus full name of the association (Yarralumla Residents Association Inc.) plus Australian business number and possibly website, address, email. (We are flexible concerning the possibility of putting the website, address and email at the bottom of the letter head page)
Agradable de tener
- Inclusion in the motif: a tree, a lake, the tall chimney at the brickworks (not all necessarily required in the one logo, but these are ideas that we feel signify Yarralumla). Since we are a residents association the use of people would also work. The brickworks chimney should only be used if it works in conjunction with other motifs and not by itself.
- It should look good printed on yellow (this is the colour of the paper currently used for our newsletter)
- Message we want to convey is the sense of community values.
- The top community values according to past surveys:
- - Peace and privacy
- - Green space and mature trees
- - Mature trees on verges
- - Central to other parts of Canberra
- - Visually appealing built environment
- - Safety
- - Being near the lake
- - Established gardens
- - Friendly, community feel
- Possible use of bright Shamrock Green Color in logo (although must still work in black and white and when printed on yellow).
- Logo style referred to is indicative only and we will consider other forms.
No debería tener
- WE HAVE CHANGED THE BRIEF
- We were avoiding the use of the "YRA", but through the contest we have realized that "YRA" in the logo might actually be preferred.
