Thousand Roads Coffee is a micro-roaster in Southern California that provides freshly roasted, artisan coffee to the community. We are looking to employ the under-served developmentally disabled adult population to give them a job, a greater presence in their community, and the dignity of being able to work and contribute.

Thousand Roads refers to the many different paths that the beans take across the globe and people's lives to your cup, the many different walks of life customers come from, and the respect for all this wonderful diversity. Coffee is a common thread that brings all of these journeys together at an extraordinary cup of coffee.

Our coffee will be sold through farmers markets, local grocery stores, to local businesses, and on the Web.

The logo should be accessible and recognizable. We are great artisan coffee, and coffee snobs love us, but we are also approachable for non-experts. We are friendly and disarming in a world of snobbery.

Buying our products transforms the lives of the developmentally disabled (differently abled) and people feel very good about contributing to this noble cause. They also like buying coffee from a non-judgmental purveyor without the pomp of the big brands.

Above all, our products are the freshest and best tasting coffees. They are worth spending a few extra dollars for, not just because of the cause, but because of the superior product.

• Our logo should evoke positive feelings - like the dawn of a new day as you drink your coffee. Like our name, there is an undertone of optimism and positivity. Our brand reminds you the world is becoming a better place every day, and our product makes your every morning a bit better.
• We also may try future brand extensions into different products (roasted nuts, bakery goods, etc) and would like the logo to be extensible should we add new or complimentary products beyond roasted beans.
• Logo could be a circle with the top half a rising sun behind mountains (where coffee is grown), the bottom half showing a curvy road and the words "Thousand Roads" wrapped around the logo. We are open to other ideas as well. Attached is one idea where the circle is actually the top view of a coffee cup, but we are definitely welcoming of other ideas as well and totally different ideas as well. Heck you are the design expert and I just did a kindergarten sketch on a napkin :)

• Stuffy, snobby. Elite or unapproachable. Our logo should make you feel comfortable with us - we feel somehow familiar and approachable.
• Nothing difficult to transition from a digital image to real-world collateral or different online media.
• Not amaturish or too playful. We do take our coffee and our work seriously.
