I am organising this project for the Board of the Vermont House Association. None of us has had any experience with crowd sourcing so we don't know what we will get. For this reason they insisted we have the option to get our money back if none of the submitted designs are satisfactory.

My career was in marketing and advertising account service and I sympathise with your position. Having seen your work, I am personally pretty confident that we will get a good solution but I have to follow the Board's request. I do hope you decide to go ahead.

Hi Wendy thanks for explaining, I don't personally take part in none guaranteed projects any longer given that over the last couple of months the none guaranteed projects just seem to be a waste of time, due to project holders claiming refunds before 1 day of being open with no clue as to why. This never used to happen.

Allot of projects currently are messing designers around and with Christmas coming I think a lot of designers will be choosing to avoid none guaranteed projects also.

However, you do seem to have put a lot of effort and detail within the brief and provided a reasonable explanation as to why you are restricted to grant the guarantee as yet. So in this instance I'm happy to take part, all I ask in return is that I have your word that you will wait until the deadline before deciding if you will want to claim the refund, then it's fair to designers and after the time is up, if you happen to find nothing suitable then it is fair enough to claim a refund. There are a bunch of great designers here I'm sure you won't have a problem finding at least one great design. Also provide feedback for changes etc, you will be surprised how quickly a design can turn direction given you communicate with your designers.

I absolutely guarantee that no decision will be taken until after the deadline. I am sorry to hear that the process has been treated with disrespect by clients - it is unconscionable to waste designers' time if they are not serious about the project. I promise that is not the case here. Thank you for agreeing to participate and I look forward to seeing your designs.
