Our palliative care program offers patients diagnosed with a serious illness--and their families--guidance and support. We take a holistic approach...meaning we address the patient's physical, psychological and spiritual suffering...and we do it with an "interdisciplinary team" of doctors and nurses, social workers, and chaplains--all working together. Palliative care focuses on COMFORT, not "cure." We're looking for something warm and inviting...nothing that implies death or sickness, because many people who need palliative care might be many, many years away from dying (although there are certainly some at the other end of the spectrum, who are much closer to death).

People who are facing a serious illness, and their families...who are looking for support. Nothing that would suggest sad or dismal or depressing. Our service is about supporting and helping people...and there's nothing depressing about that.
