So, NZ$150 will be paid for the work of 4 posters, is that correct?

Hi Tony,
Thanks for your interest in this contest.

To clarify:
Competition to find the best designer will be based on showing 2 posters (posters 1 and 2).
Once selected the winning pot will be based on the winning designer supplying 4 posters.

I am paying Design Crowd NZ$318 to host this competition. Unfortunately I do not know how much of this is paid to the designer (?).

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

DesignCrowd takes 15% commission from the designers payment. The 1st place payment is showing as NZ$150, so the designer would receive, at most, NZ$127.50.

There seems to be quite a large discrepancy between what DesignCrowd charge and what they pay-out to designers, it seems.
Quoted from DesignCrowd FAQ: "You need to pay a posting fee of US$59 to run a Design Contest but you set your own budget before the project starts".

Maths is not my area of expertise, but 150 (1st place) + 40 (4 x 10 for participation payments) + 59 (posting fee) = 249. If you paid NZ$318, that leaves NZ$69 unaccounted for. I must be missing something. :/

Best regards
Tony

My bad! Correction: the 59 is in US$, which equals about NZ$84, as of today. That leaves about NZ$44 unaccounted for.

Hi

Could you please provide the main image shown in the first mock-up? It doesn't seem to be included in the uploaded files. I will use a different image for now, as it may be a little dark.

Kind regards, Piquant

SCOPE REDUCTION AND BUDGET INCREASE

Hi All,
We have taken on board comments made by some designers that our scope did not reflect the budget.

To address this we have:

1) REDUCED THE SCOPE. Only Poster #1 and #2 as discussed in the original brief are required before receiving payment originally 4 posters were required).

2) INCREASED THE WINNING POT by 33% to NZ$200 (from NZ150)

3) INCREASED DEADLINE to help designers who were not previously interested.

We hope this helps and shows our commitment to listening to our designers and getting the best design.

DSCC NZ
