just a question, would the Puebloan culture you're referring to include the Anasazi?

I agree John the illustration style is very naive, but personally I have a broader concern regarding the DesignCrowd system bias towards the "client" and their responsibility (lack of) towards the designer, as well as the general lack of transparency in the process.

Guided by the client feedback on a couple of my earlier attempts, I provided a freehand sketch (leaving the choice of rendering style/method open) which was alarmingly similar to the winning design. The circular text surrounds a central element of the Chimney Rock and a fruit motif standing in for a rising moon/sun, below it a zigzag landscape a tractor (on client's request) and a rustic basket of fruit.

The final comment I received included a statement: "What I am NOT looking for is just a text centered logo, a Photoshop filter of a Chimney Rock photograph or a fantasy theme of flowing rivers, vines, or vegetables. I am looking for a creative expression of the many possible themes of nutritious food, wilderness adventure, or the mystery behind the ancient use of the Chimney Rock to predict seasons."

I'm not claiming that this is the case here, but the general impression I'm left with is that a client and their favoured supplier (e.g. their local sign-maker, printer or even a friend) could exploit the system to get ideas towards the winning bid always destined to be awarded to their own party.
