OKM Capital is a newly established venture capital fund based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. We have an energetic team, most of us are recent graduates from MIT executive MBA program, inspired by Boston innovation cluster and passionate about applying our broad Investment, IT, and Mobile Technology backgrounds to the rising need of health care industry in innovative digital solutions and disruptive medical devices. We believe that the future of medicine is preventive, predictive and personalized solutions through digital technologies that can address urgent healthcare challenges and increase the quality of life. The healthcare should be as well equipped with new technologies as your smartphone – mobility, data collection, analysis, storage and transfer, communication, imaging functions – all require constant innovations to improve the quality of care.
We invest in entrepreneurs developing novel technologies that solve large unmet medical needs. We are patient for growth and provide initial capital in seed and early-stage rounds where the risk is high and most of other VC firms have a very low appetite.
Traditional VC firms are concentrated on e-commerce and software sectors and are overlooking healthcare, where valuations are low and many potentially disruptive inventions face a valley of death in terms of financing. OKM Capital is focused on:
• creating a greater good for the society by supporting innovations in health care
• creating value for investors by helping our portfolio companies grow and succeed
We would like to communicate this message to three groups of stakeholders: to our own investors, who will provide capital; to the entrepreneurs of the start-up companies, in which we plan to invest; and to the big corporations that might be interested in partnering with or acquiring these start-up companies at a later stage.
The logo design should communicate that MOBILE / DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY is serving HEALTH / LIFE.
We would like to see shapes/colors creating associations with health or life, but not as directly as putting established medical symbols like a cross or a snake. More distantly associated symbols like a hand or a line reminding a cardio-line, or some play with the colors symbolizing health and life like green/red, might be the source of ideas. Digital/mobile can be translated through the use of dots/numbers/waves.
Our current website (www.okmcapital.com) uses blue and orange colors, might be used too, but you shouldn't stick to it, as we are planning to redesign our website anyway.
