Resumen de Diseño de Logo

What is AuSSDA*?
The Austrian Social Science Data Archive (AuSSDA*) strives to become the leading supplier of research data for the social sciences in Austria. We curate data and make it available for others. Our data inform researchers and decision-makers to create policies for a better society. We believe that information should be freely available for everyone to use.

We do not want a logo consisting of only letters, we need a graphic element to be part of the logo. This graphic element should offer the possibility to be used alone, with the acronym and with the long form (the Austrian Social Science Data Archive). The three elements should also work independently from each other.

A stylized "A" is not what we are after. We are looking for a symbol/ depiction/ other graphic option that has to do with the field we specialize in, this could be depictions of:
-data (data analysis visualized through graphs, charts,...)
-storage in an archive (allowing input and output of data, showing that we store it and users can access data)
-data re-use or a data (life-)cycle
-connections to social science (could be achieved through data points relating to people/figures...)

This depiction could then also be connected to our geographical location. Please note that Austria is in Europe, and don't use colours/outlines associated with Australia. Having the country outline and the colour red appears to be a bit much though.

While the archive stems from an academic field, it wishes to convey a modern appearance as it is a new digital infrastructure, therefore the logo should not be too conservative.

Requisitos

Debes tener

• a symbolic depiction related to the work we do to go along with the lettering. This could relate to data (statistics, graphs, diagrams,...), the work we do in archiving (showing that users upload data to our archive, we store it and others download it; depicting this data life cycle in any way). The symbol could also combine our work and our geographical location.

No debería tener

• no lab equipment (microscopes, stethoscopes etc. will not work for social sciences)
• an emphasis of the "A" is not sufficient as a logo feature
• the symbol should not allow associations to various other fields, it should clearly be associated with our work
