Resumen de Diseño de Logo

I am looking at creating a family crest/coat of arms that can truly represent who we are and what we are about as group. Specifically colors, imagery, and symbols that exemplify the traits of loyalty, ambition, generosity, and sacrifice. For the animal imagery, from a culturaly standpiont the elephant, tiger, and the owl would be appropriate symbols. I've seen family crest that have one type of animal flanking a shield that is topped off by a secondary animal to add the duality of meaning and depth.

I am flexible on how this all comes together but would like to see a good blend of tradition and stately appearance of a family crest but with touches of modernity and deeper meaning so that it can be appropriate for use today without looking archaic. Will need the logo to be usable on stationery, apparel, business cards, etc so flexibility and depth/detail of design will be key in determining the right design direction.
