Wooden Skiff Beer Co. wants to create a 12oz beer can label for its newest release of a Grapefruit Session IPA called Neptune's Angel. Wooden Skiff is currently only sold on draft in the state of South Carolina, USA and is considered "coastal craft beer" with most of our beer styles having lower alcohol content so they can be enjoyed in the heat of the outdoors, on the beach, boating, etc.

Story behind the name: A "Neptune’s Wooden Angel" is a carved wooden figurehead of a woman on a ship’s bow. Figureheads embodied the spirit of a ship and were believed to placate the gods of the sea to ensure a safe voyage. This should be the premise of the can design...most female figureheads on ships in the 18th and 19th century had large breasts, many times exposed, but this is not necessarily what we are looking for as we do NOT want to demean females in any way but would rather put them on a pedestal due to the power a female figurehead held (calming the sea god, Neptune, so he would ensure the ship had safe passage)

The attached eps file is to be used as the template. The label will be printed and attached to a stock can during the filling process. Please be aware that the stock can is black and the can will show black above and below the label once applied. The only graphics, from the attached template, that should remain on this can label are the UPC code (FPO), the Surgeon General warning and the verbiage in the bottom black section that states 12 fl oz 355 ml, Alc/Vol, etc. The ABV for this beer should be listed as 4.9% Alc./Vol. and "brewed by" should read: Brewed and Canned for Wooden Skiff Beer Co.

There will need to be a prominent spots for both the Wooden Skiff logo (attached) and the beer style (Session Grapefruit IPA). We will also be including a "story" which will need a column carved out to contain approx. 36-40 words (you do not need to create the story, just the illustration)

The demographic for craft beer is primarily male but females enjoy our beer as well. A creative, bold and fun design is what we are looking for instead of plain and corporate looking. Keep in mind the design will be next to hundreds of other designs on store shelves so it needs to attract the consumer's eye.
