Resumen de Diseño de Logo
Need new logo design for our startup called www.lightrocket.com.
LightRocket is an online tool for photographers. Members pay a small monthly/yearly subscription and can -
- Sell their work directly to our database of picture buyers
- Instantly create portfolio websites using our templates
- Quickly and securely deliver files to clients and friends using our sharing features.
And there is lots more....
We also offer powerful and intuitive media management tools so photographers can manage and backup up their precious photo collections. We're also currently building a new layer of social media features to boost the community aspect of our service, making LightRocket more engaging for the user.
We launched our website a few months ago and are currently overhauling our design and graphic presentation - it was not cutting it (you'll see why when you visit our site :-). As part of the overhaul process - prior to a relaunch - we want to create a new, fresh-looking design and graphic identity.
We have a team working on the homepage but need a talented designer to create a cool and modern-looking logo for us.
Our target market is main photographers but we're essentially a tool for anybody working with digital visual media. Our name suggests dynamism so it might be good to incorporate that idea into your thinking.
We would like a logo that is simple, contemporary and memorable...don't they all!
Actualizaciones
A quick updated to our brief.
Although the word 'rocket' is an important part of our name and we love it...we're thinking we don't necessarily want to include a rocket graphic in our logo, it's somehow a bit too obvious and somewhat distracting.
The closest we would want to get to a rocket is some kind of very graphic representation that suggests the energy and dynamism of a rocket without actually illustrating one.
Our feeling is that a strong, easily identifiable, rocket image sets off too many associations in people's minds and distracts from our business identity which revolves around photography and digital visual media.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: We'd like to extend the deadline so we have a little more time to review the many excellent designs that have come in.

Objetivo del mercado(s)
Photographers are our main target market....although this could also mean photographers who are working in video and possibly other media. So we would prefer to see a logo that doesn't tie our identity too exclusively to photography but also suggests we are a service for people who are passionate about digital visual media.

Requisitos
Debes tener
- We must have the name in text and we also need a graphic symbol (Lettermark logo/pictorial combination logo) to accompany the wordmark logo that could be used separately as a logo or graphic icon in a square space (rather like the instagram logo.
- The lettermark/pictorial combination logo should be striking enough to convey our brand without necessarily having the full text.
- Another MUST for us is that the wordmark logo and lettermark/pictorial graphic should be placed adjacent to each other horizontally. Since we are an online business we want our logo to run horizontally in our header and therefore to use as little vertical space as possible - leaving more space for our functionality and promotional texts (homepage) below the header.
