We are getting too many designs with a "cross" as in medical care. This is a technology company - we’re about usability of data, not about patient condition.

One suggestion for the designers would be to look at the icon as "the big picture". When people are in the hospital - there are MULTIPLE departments that deal with the patient. Doctors, nurses, insurance reps, lab reports, x-rays, etc. Our client builds an interface that takes all of the data and puts it in one place - so that you can see the complete picture of what is going on with the patient. All information comes TOGETHER in one place. In real time.
