Resumen de Diseño de Logo
I need a logo for a startup called 'Farmster', based in New Zealand. Farmster seeks to create a micro-farming network, connecting (suburban) Backyard farmers with their local community need for fresh, locally grown vegetables (think: lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, beetroot etc)
- Farmster ‘borrows’ Backyards to create micro-farms. We will plant, maintain and harvest crops across our network of farms, and deliver vegetables, weekly.
- Farmster offers advice for people who prefer to farm their own Backyard. We will buy and distribute any surplus.
- Farmster delivers freshly harvested Backyard vegetables, weekly, whether or not people have a Backyard to lend.
The logo will be used in lots of typical places for a startup (website, social media, marketing materials, business cards, t-shirts). I also plan to deliver the vegetables in wooden crates and like the idea of spray-painting (with stencil) a silhouette of the logo on the side of the crate (if feasible).
The logo will also be used as the inspiration for other design work. E.g. likely I will have a small number of key navigation icons etc on the website, which will leverage the design aesthetic of the logo (e.g. something for 'About us', a farmer for 'Farm', a basket of veges for 'Buy' etc).
I am very open to considering a range of design ideas (that's why I'm here!). That said, below are some ideas as inspiration.
Ideally, the logo would evoke some of the key elements of the Farmster brand as well as the core business idea/service (backyard farming) we are selling. E.g. my hope is that Farmster will appeal to people's desire to:
- not take life too seriously (this should be a fun brand, not too earnest)
- know where their food comes from
- do the right thing by the environment.
- connect with their local community
- participate, 'be part of something'. 'be part of the solution'. Act. Be 'seen' to be doing something.
- live outside the mainstream (i.e. don't shop at supermarkets)
- chase nostalgia / retro (i.e. when everyone used to grow their own vegetables)
- get involved in new, disruptive, 'sharing economy' businesses (e.g. Farmster as airbnb, uber etc of vegetables...)
Some initial ideas on design (but please do not be constrained by these!)
- should the logo incorporate some kind of character (e.g. something that mashes together farmer with suburban / city-dweller)?
Again, with the plea not to be constrained by these:
- Attached is a prototype webpage (with placeholder images etc) to give you a rough idea.
- Also attached are some random/related images off the internet for potential further inspiration.

Requisitos
Debes tener
- Go for unique, not cliché. Simple. Clever. Fun, not too serious.
Agradable de tener
- - Great if the design can incorporate some of the more unique elements of the business (vs just vegetables). E.g. urban/city element, city-dweller becomes farmer, backyards.
- - something with a character / human element feels like it might be preferable
No debería tener
- This is for a New Zealand audience, as such ideally steer clear of North American (or other obvious cultural stereo-typical) farm references (barns, turnips etc). Think instead of suburbia... low density city living. Everyday New Zealand vegetables like lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, beans etc
