For what it's worth, I understand your frustration. I chose to design things in a way that I deemed 'professional' and 'meaningful'. With respect to one lilypad vs. two - well, it's clear to me that with the company name, two lilypads are too many. I thought that would be a mistake. Sometimes I follow creative direction from the client, sometimes I interpret. I tried to do both and I did not see a way to dress a frog in a suit and still keep it professional. I think that's a difficult balance to strike. Further, I didn't believe I would win this contest after I submitted my designs. I had actually removed it from my 'watchlist' because I felt it deviated too far from their original concept. It was a nice surprise after a streak of losses for me. I have invested many hours into work that has never went anywhere, as I'm sure you have as well. I empathize with you but after looking at your work and winnings, I know you'll continue to do well!
