Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We will be conducting a randomized clinical trial to provide the first evidence for the comparative effectiveness of two distinct approaches in improving insomnia for dialysis patients. We are in need of a study logo that will be placed on patient and doctor-facing study data collection forms and web pages. The logo may include graphics, should include the text ‘SLEEP-HD’ in the Gotham font family (Arial is an acceptable alternative), and the group we work with has established color preferences of Pantone 370 (green) and Pantone 5487 (steel blue). Accent colors of Pantone 5503, 7533, and 7535 are also acceptable. Information about the study below may be helpful when designing the logo. Because patients will be randomized to one particular treatment, it would be best if the logo focused more on insomnia than on the treatment.

Patients with end-stage renal (kidney) disease treated with dialysis report poor health-related quality life, in part because of the large number of troubling symptoms they experience. One of the most frequently reported symptoms is insomnia and includes difficulties in falling asleep, frequently waking up after falling asleep, and early morning awakening. There are unique issues pertaining to dialysis treatments and schedules that disrupt regular sleep/wake routines and contribute to the high rate and severity of insomnia. So far, no clinical trials have tested the efficacy of treatments for dialysis patients. We will compare sleep outcomes among patients randomized to a medication called trazodone versus telehealth cognitive behavioral therapy, an approach not only for dialysis patients but also for other patient populations with difficulty accessing treatment for insomnia.
