Resumen de Diseño de Logo

We are looking for a new logo design for our television/film production company that also specializes on advertising and all forms of digital marketing. This could lead to a website design project. The company has been in existence for 20 years, and has not focused much on its own marketing. The name of the company is 45 North Productions, and was started on the 45th parallel in Northern Michigan. We work throughout the United States, and have conducted extensive filming throughout the world, especially in Africa, India, Cambodia, Cuba. We work extensively in Washington DC, and have produced promotional films and television specials on wide ranging topics, from television shows for Ford Motor Company to promotional videos for non-profits that work in villages in SE Asia. As such, though we are a very small company, I want a logo that seems "big" and allows us to compete with much larger companies. Also, based on the name and the diverse nature of our work, I think the concept of "Adventure" and "Geography" need to be the prominent element of the logo design. I very much like the idea of incorporating a Compass Rose in the logo, though I am open to versions that are both "literal" and "representative" as it relates to this design element. Our colors are dark blue and a vibrant orange/red. I am not opposed to introducing other colors. The final design should communicate a mixture of Earnest Hemingway type adventure while still being high tech.
