Thank you for your question. Here are my favorite websites for reference and inspiration:

I like this one because of the animation that seems "space age", but I would have the icons in the middle "active" so you could click on it and go to different projects or technologies.

Trask Industries: [Non image link removed]

I like the fact it opens with a space scene and switches and has the "find out how" link. You could have short videos for different products/projects: Paper making insulation, fire testing of fire shelters, etc.

Zerorez: [Non image link removed]
This one is simple, but I like the idea of a big picture of a product, or perhaps one of the electron microscope pictures in the background, with the different technologies/products in the bubbles that a person could click on.
