Recharging Systems Matrix
• One of the product ranges we sell are recharging systems for Fire Brigades; that being compressors that produce breathing air that they can refill their breathing cylinders with
• The current sales situation is too confusing for our teams as there are many different constellations of the necessary components; too much choice?
• The aim of this project is to make it simpler and offer a few standard components that can be selected in different configurations – hopefully the attached sketch gives an idea…
o The finished product in this case needs to be presented in a PowerPoint presentation and will be used in an sales brochure i.e. on the two inside pages of a four sided brochure
• As you will see;
o There are three virtual, vertical ‘columns’ to this matrix; Compressor, Storage, Filling Station (plus a fourth that will be for the corresponding part numbers to be listed – see below explanation)
 The aim is to 3 x compressor models shown
 There will be 2 x storage options shown
 There will be 4 x Filling Station options shown
 All up, this creates 24 x possible configurations or system…(which actually means we have to create 24 x part numbers)
o The idea is that it acts a flow matrix i.e. the sales person can select the top compressor (for example), then select the bottom storage option and then the ‘second from top’ recharging station
 Importantly, in doing so they need to then find the corresponding part number
 In my mind, it’s a little bit like going to the hospital; they have colored lines on the floor that take you to the different departments – it’s the same idea here (but we don’t have to use colored lines)
o It needs to be;
 Clean and corporate looking (see attached example from some recent work we had done - its just a guide)
 Simple to use
 A ‘template’ style where we can insert the images of the various components as they vary from country to country
o I have attached some examples of the various components that you can use
 There are a couple of duplications, that’s okay for now
 These will probably work well for the ppt version of the matrix that we will use for training (the duplications will need to be fixed up – that’s step two)
