Resumen de Diseño de portada de libro

The book title is:

The Practically Perfect Project Manager

Sean Whitaker, MSc, MBA, PMP

It is a book about professional yet common sense project management principles aimed at beginner to experienced project managers. The book is written in a conversational, informal tone with reference to best practice in project management. It is designed to be used as an accessible desk reference. I am looking for a cover design that is striking, eye catching, and professional. It can have an element of fun and informality to reflect the tone of the contents.

I have attached a copy of the draft manuscript so you can get a feel for what the book is like.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed a design so far for the book cover.  Looking at the submitted designs has given me more of a chance to think about the look and feel of my book.

The term Practically Perfect in the book title has two meanings, both of which apply to the contents of the book.

The first meaning is something that is almost but not quite perfect, and its has some smallflaw. It’s good enough to do the job.

The second meaning is that in practical rather than theoretical sense and it’s perfect for the job.

Here are three book covers that I like the look of. I like the use of negative space, the fresh modern look, the use of a recognisable image and a bit of a play on the words of the title. Have a look at these and you get a sense of what I am looking for.

A Perfect Mess: The Hidden Benefits of Disorder by Eric Abrahamson & David Freedman (the cover with the lamp slightly tilted and the letter F slightly askew in the title)

Kluge: The Haphazard construction of the human mind by Gary Marcus (the cover with the monkey and human head)

Magical Thinking: True Stories by Augusten Burroughs (the cover with the glass of water)

Many thanks

Thank you so  much to everyone who submitted a design. The quality of the work submitted was excellent and it was incredbily difficult to choose a winner. I selected the winner by creating a voting poll and asking about 100 collegaues to vote on their favourite. Three designs were selected for a second round of voting and i have selected the winner based on this process.

I want to thank you for taking the time and effort to enter the book cover design competition.

Regards
