Resumen de Diseño de Logo

I need a design for a new infant/baby onesie/tshirt design company based in San Diego. The company name is 'Baby's Got Soul". As in, when you see a baby in one of my onesies or baby shirts you say....dam, that 'baby's got soul!!!

I have a number of San Diego driven designs that will sell locally but there's lots of other designs for people all over that will be sold thru my website. These are witty, funky, creative, fun, unique, sarcastic, inspirational, cool designs. So I would like to tie in the whole soul/funky, cool, chill, creative vibe into my logo.

My idea for the logo....
I was thinking of bringing in the whole 'soul' aspect ala James Brown, funk, 70s etc and having a vinyl record incorporated in the logo. My thought was the logo was condensed into one big circle (record)....but maybe there's text outside of the circle?? Maybe 'Baby's Got Soul' is in the middle of the album where the typical label goes on vinyl but that will probably be too small? So maybe wrap the writing around the vinyl (inside or out?) so you can read it better? I'm open to cool, creative, funky ideas. Afros? Bell bottoms? Who knows? Soulful!

I was thinking one color text on a black vinyl record? However, this will be a kids line and I plan on branding the inside of the necks with the logo....so maybe black is too harsh for branding but will be good for the biz card/signage. Maybe a logo where the black vinyl can be changed to blue or pink for boys/girls when doing inside of shirt branding? So same logo but the color can easily change and not lose the feel. Black vinyl, light blue vinyl, pink vinyl, etc.

Check out the example I uploaded. It's black vinyl but can be changed to blue, pink or whatever color. Not sure if I need the gradient on the side but maybe I do? But that is along the lines of what I"m looking for. Text can be inside or out. Wrapped around or not. Just something creative.

However, not limited to only the vinyl idea. Maybe something with funky horns/sax or something soulful music/70s feel? I just thought the circular album feel would be easy to recognize and easy to create and go along with the soul music feel of the whole brand.

I have alot of San Diego driven designs with the beach, surf, outdoor lifestyle, healthy living, organic lifestyle (since I'll be selling these at farmers markets in San Diego to start). However I also have a huge line of non SD designs that I want people all over the US to see and want to buy for their baby, niece, nephew, best friend's kid, etc....since that baby's got Soul!

So I need a killer logo for brand recognition so people can say that their "Baby's Got Soul"!!! Let's get funky.

Anyone in the market for buying a baby onesie or shirt. The baby designs are cool, creative, fun, funky so the people who are buying these should fall into these categories too. People should see the logo, think it's clever, and get a feel that the brand is soulful, cool, fresh, and creative while offering designs a bit different than your typical baby store. All while still keeping a classy edge for the parents, grandparents, friends, etc who are buying the shirts.
