Resumen de Diseño de Logo

I need a logo for a law firm which focuses on probate, estate, trust, small business and real estate disputes (i.e., civil litigation). The firm handles clients in Vancouver, WA and the Portland, OR metro area. I do not want the logo to have anything to do with some of the more frequent things you see (scales of justice, a gavel, etc.). The logo should embody confidence, but not aggression. Think of a symbol that would look good on my letterhead, but would not be out of place if it was used to symbolize a difficult hiking path on a trail map.
